In my opinion, one of the most beautiful Christmas carols.

I found myself listening to Joan Baez’s performance of “Let It Be” over and over as I drove my car through the city tonight. It was the most content I’ve felt in a while. My dog Lucky hanging his head out the back window, the full moon shining in the sky, the strangers walking down sidewalks, the quiet streets, the hushed workplaces, the children’s hospital lit up against the dark night, the thinking of sweet thoughts. “There will be an answer,” I wanted to call out to the people I passed. “Let it be.”
It’s been 21 years. Never forget.
Two songs that caught my attention while watching Netflix last night:
“Silver Bird” by Mark Lindsay (featured in the movie The Gray Man)
“Like a Woman Should” by Hayley Mary (featured in the miniseries Maid)
Tonight I put on “Happy Ending” and danced around my room, and it took me back to 2007 – 2008, when I was listening to Mika’s album Life in Cartoon Motion all the time. Mika is such a lovely human. Enjoy the nostalgia. π
Also, a few memorable and moving renditions of the National Anthem for you to watch on this Fourth of July:
May the people of the United States remember the goodness of their country and find increased unity in the midst of deep disagreements. God bless America.
I never fancied myself as a Barry Manilow kind of girl, but I think this song is really poignant and pretty. The melody reminds me of “Wuthering Heights” by Kate Bush – can you hear the similarities?
